CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION FOR
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (CFCD)

Report -- November, 2012.

Brethren in Christ, it is my pleasure to congratulate you for having stood with us since the beginning of this year. Your support to Christian Foundation has been so great because it has enabled us to do the work of God with some ease although not devoid of challenges.

Hospital and prison ministry is not an easy ministry if you don’t have patience and love from Christ to do it. Many people who do this ministry find themselves abandoning it because of the challenges involved.

First of all, the majority of the sick in our public hospitals are poor and they expect you to help them access a meal to eat because they are hungry although sometimes they lack apertite for certain foods. They need drugs, clothes, blankets and other necesities. If you find yourself unable to provide some of these needs, you abandon the ministry because of shyness. Sometimes you lack perseverance because of the plight of the sick. They are weak, pale and not pleasing to look at making some people to think that they can contract sicknesses from them.

The God who called us to serve him in this area has made us to like it and we have managed to end the year well through your support and prayers although we have remained with few days to go. We are happy that whenever you visit Uganda, you get time to visit these facilities with us as you lay your hands on the sick to pray for them without fear of contracting diseases. May the good Lord bless you for your support.

Bible Blessing to Prison Fellowship and Hospital Ministry.

When Pastor Larry was here in october, he gave our ministry a blessing of bibles that we gave out to those who accept the Lord and love to learn his word. These bibles have helped our team members and local partners to disciple the prisoners who accept Jesus. In hospital outreaches, a sick person needs a bible than any other person because that’s where he finds comfort.

After accepting the Lord the sick always get closer to God than ever making the bible the only place of refugee in times of great pain and threatening death. Whenever we get bibles we give them out to these people so that they get to grow spiritually. It is hard for these people to buy a bible because it is expensive. The cheap English version bible here is at 15000 shillings which is around 5 dollars and a bible in a local language is between 25000 to 30,000 shillings which is around 9 to 11 dollars.

This is too much for our people the majority of whom live on 1 to 2 dollars a day. This blessing from Pastor Larry of seaside came in handy because we need bibles for ministry.

Drug Dispensing at Tororo Hospital.

Christian Foundation is still on its program of dispensing drugs at Tororo hospital to those who are poor and can not buy what the doctor prescribes for them because some drugs are in short supply at this facility. The children especially have benefited so much in this program because of the syrups they get during the days when our social worker is there. The people have continued to benefit in this program and lives have been saved!!

On the same note, this program has made the work of the doctors and nurses easier because they are sure that our ministry is always present when ability is there to supliment government efforts in providing drugs to the poor sick. Before we came in with this program, many patients used to die due to lack of medicines that were not in the hospital but now iam happy to inform you that the death rate has reduced. Though we can’t stop death, we believe that prayers accompanied with the drugs that we provide are the ones that have made death not to be so common in the hospital.

CFCD has also helped in surgeries and x-ray services outside Tororo hospital in a small way due to limited resources. With all this, it has not been easy but God has been on our side and I believe he will provide more funding come next year by touching friends and well wishers. May the almighty God bless you all who have supported and made sure that the death rate of Gods people gets reduced.

Provision and Serving of Food and Poriadge to Kids and Adults at Tororo Hospital.

Christian Foundation has continued to provide and to serve food to both adults and kids adimited at the hospital. There are so many people who get admitted in this facility with no one to provide them a meal. Even those who have near relatives to provide, a meal is not nutritious. Here we have come in to give hope to those who are hungry and can’t afford a meal.

We have worked hard with the hospital authorities to fight malnutrition and both children and adults are hopeful of getting healed. We have accompanied all this with a hygiene program emphasizing on personal and general hygiene in the hospital working together with the hospital administration.

Challenges.

I will not get tired of talking about a van for the ministry. We need it to help some of the sick who get referrals because the hospital ambulance sometimes it has no fuel or it is broken down. There are also those we encounter in our village outreaches who need to see a doctor in hospital but are too poor to afford transport. This van can also help us in our prison outreaches because God opened the door for us to serve in prisons which are many miles away from Tororo. May God bless you as you stand in prayer with us for all this. I wish you all a HAPPY X-MAS AND A NEW YEAR 2013.
