HOSPITAL OUTREACH REPORT.

The bible says, without a vision people perish. Sunday 20th June 2010 was one of my happiest moments since I founded the ministry that helps the sick in hospital and those in prison. Slowly but sure, I see the Lord answering our prayers and our vision being realized. There is power in prayer and I know our partners especially Seaside church, individuals and other well wishers are doing a great job to lift CFCD ministry in prayer. The journey is long but with your support and prayers, slowly we shall reach our destination. The support increment from hope4kids/seaside has made us very proud. For a long time, I prayed to God to give us bibles for those who get saved in our outreaches and the money increment has helped us now to buy bibles for ministry! We have increased on our food budget and at least able to buy a few copies of the bibles.

Although the majority of the people in Uganda profess Christianity, it is easy to find a whole family without a bible. The reason is that the majority are in religion other than true Christianity. This is seen the way they mix Christianity and spiritism making it necessary to give bibles to those who accept Christ (get saved) as their savior. Given the levels of poverty here in Uganda, it becomes difficult for those who get saved to buy a bible which is almost 10 dollars yet these people need to learn the word of God. Remember, the majority of the people here live on one dollar per day. On several occasions in our outreaches, those who get saved develop the urge to learn the word of God and they ask us to provide them with bibles. Iam happy that now we are able to provide a few copies that we buy. The need for bibles is still big. When you compare the people who get saved in our outreaches with the copies that we are able to buy, you realize that the need is still great because in a single hospital visit 15 to 35 people get saved depending on the number of the sick (admitted) and their attendants. We thank the Lord because of this achievement (buying bibles) and may God bless Seaside church because I was told by Angie that it’s where all this support is coming from.

Food for the Sick.

When I begun sacrificing money from my pocket to buy food for the sick in hospital, I didn’t know that one day God will bring people with a big heart to support this ministry. First friends in Uganda came to appreciate my work and they joined my team on top of contributing to this noble cause. Some did it after hearing from their relatives (admitted) whom we were feeding in hospital. The food we were giving was not enough to finish even one ward but now God has enabled us to reach most wards. When the president of hope4kids Tom eggum introduced me to Gene of seaside church for a hospital visit, I didn’t know that God was bringing this great man to help us visit the sick with a material blessing in a special way. We developed a friendship which later produced greater fruits. Through him, my ministry now enjoys support and great partnership with seaside church/hope4kids. From 50 dollars that they begun supporting us with, now we have begun receiving almost 400 dollars. God willing, soon we shall begin visiting other public health centers and hospitals in Nagongera, Mulanda and Mukuju.God has given us an opportunity to reach the sick and those in prison where they are. Some of these people are witchdoctors, devil worshipers Moslems and nominal Christians who mix Christianity with other beliefs. Yea we also meet Christians who are sick because sickness and jail don’t discriminate but our main mission is to bring to Christ those who don’t believe because it would be difficult to find them in their homes.

CFCD Agricultural Project.

Preaching the good news of salvation is our primary focus in both prison and hospital. However, we have a duty to satisfy other needs of these people if we are to preach a meaningful gospel (full gospel). Remember in the book of Mathew our Lord tells to feed the hungry, visit the sick and those ones in prison. That’s why we take soap, sugar, food and other necessities to the hospital and prison.

Some months back we hired a small land near our house for digging. We planted food to increase on our capacity to feed the sick and get grain for our ECD program. Iam happy to inform you that soon we shall harvest maize! At least we expect to harvest one sack of grain which will help us in our endeavors to help the disadvantaged. Other good news is that we planted green vegetables and we harvested some that we cooked for the sick last Sunday. Pray for us so that we get bigger land to plant more food.

Preaching.

The scripture was got from the book of 1st Thessalonians 4:13-17. It says: Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to greave like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lords own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the arch angel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Brothers and sisters, we have not come to bring here a new religion but a message of salvation. Paul warned the believers in Thessalonica who had accepted Jesus not to be ignorant of those who fall asleep or to grieve like the rest of men who don’t have hope. Here Paul was talking about the hope of resurrection. We know that when someone is sick, two things await him:

1 - Death.
2 - Life.

When you are sick you are at the gate of death! But thanks be to God because he loves you. That’s why we have brought you a message of hope. Indeed when you don’t have Jesus you are on crossroads. You don’t know where you are going. In the situation you are in now, this is the time to accept Jesus!! You are suffering and in a lot of pain but God wants to save your soul. He wants to heal you because he has preserved these precious words for you so that you get a chance of getting saved. When you do it you will have a chance to meet Christ in the air when he comes. Verse 17 has said that we will be with the Lord forever. Do you want to be with the Lord or you want to be with the devil? Being with the devil is eternal punishment but being with Christ is eternal joy. Accept the Lord Brethren and you will see his goodness. Andrew said. After the sermon in all wards 33 people had accepted Jesus. Daniel led all of them in a prayer of confession and he prayed for their sicknesses. The outreach ended at 6:00 p.m. we converged in our house opposite the hospital for prayer and wished one another blessings and each person went to his home.
